Elemental Fracture: Game v6.1.4

Relaunch your launcher, let it pull v6.1.4, and play.

Europe is live

Picking Europe in the region menu now actually sends you to servers in Europe. Before this, selecting EU still dropped you onto North American servers, which meant a long round trip and spells that landed a beat late. Now EU routes to real European hardware, and if you queue as a party, a duo, or a Dominion group, everyone lands together on the same European server instead of getting split up. If you play from that side of the world, this is the difference between the game feeling responsive and feeling broken.

The version you see is finally ours

The number in the corner of the title screen and the pause menu used to read v4.2.15258, Spellbreak’s old engine build, which told you nothing about which Elemental Fracture version you were actually on. It now reads the real EF version, v6.1.4, in both places, straight from the version your launcher installed. When you are reporting a bug or checking you are up to date, the number on screen is finally the number that matters.

Required updates

Elemental Fracture can now require a minimum version to play. When we ship something important, older clients are asked to update instead of quietly running out-of-date code against a newer server, which is exactly how you end up with confusing, hard-to-pin-down problems. If you are behind, you get a clear prompt to relaunch and update rather than a mystery failure.

EF Controller Experimental Settings and General QOL updates

A few additions to the in-game Controller panel:

Also in this build

The server browser and player counts now include the European region alongside North America. Japanese servers are still in progress (sorry, Spellbreak Community Japan!)

Update: relaunch your launcher (v3.0.3) and it pulls v6.1.4 automatically.
