Elemental Fracture Mod 3.23.0 – Patch Notes

Relaunch your launcher and let it pull Mod 3.23.2. The game stays on 6.4.5.
Store
- More of the old game is for sale. Giveaway outfits (including Hollow and the Prime Gaming set), Feldspar and Hinterland, and the items from every pack (founder packs such as Keymaster, the chapter packs, the PlayStation Plus packs, Release Starter, Rogue and Aerialist) can now be bought with gold.
- A bundle every week. Each week one pack is on sale as a single bundle, always first in the store, for 20% less than its items bought one by one. Items you already own are taken off the price. Every pack comes around in turn.
- Fewer daily items, every item in time. The daily rotation is smaller, and it is paced so that every item in the store comes around before the chapter ends.
- The store no longer rebuilds after every purchase. It loads once per rotation; what you buy simply shows as owned.
Clan tags
- Wear a clan tag. Set a tag of up to 4 letters or digits on the game’s own Account screen, under your player name, and tick Show Clan Tag. It appears as [TAG] Name in matches and in chat. You can also set it from the EF Controller’s Account tab.
- Tags that could pass for staff or an official role (such as GM, EF, DEV, MOD, ADMIN or TEST) can’t be used, and the usual name filter applies.
Triumphs
- Choose your Triumph. Triumphs were a cut feature where your character would play an emote on an opponent’s exile screen; even though it never made it into the game, all of the back-end was hidden. They now have their own tile in each class’s loadout on the Cosmetics screen, next to your outfit, and a TRIUMPH card in Collections. Pick one and it plays at the end of a match for the player you exile.
Cosmetics Manager
- New Cosmetics tab in the EF Controller, under Account. It mirrors the one on elefrac.com: follow in-game progression or pick your own collection, turn the free community cosmetics on or off, and save, all without leaving the game.
- Test-era rewards can be claimed. The outfits, badges and titles given to pre-alpha, alpha and beta testers can’t be earned any more, so anyone can claim them, from the in-game tab or the website.
- Pictures and sorting. The EF Controller’s Cosmetics tab shows a picture of every item, and the sell list is grouped by type.
- Sell earned cosmetics too. Bought items still sell back for what you paid. Earned and rewarded cosmetics now sell for half their store price. A sold item is gone until you buy it again. Base outfits, community cosmetics, quest-chain outfits and test-era rewards can’t be sold.
Fair play
- [GM] messages. If you filed a report or an appeal, a moderator may write to you in game as [GM]. Answer with
/gm. These are official and only ever about your own report or appeal. - Only our mods, unmodified. Your game now tells the server which mod files and content packs it runs. Cosmetic packs (skins, textures, sounds, UI, translations) are fine. Altered mod files or packs that change gameplay are flagged for staff. Old versions of our own files never count against you.
- Terms of Service 3.0 and Privacy Policy 2.3. Every rule now has its own number, and how reports, warnings, suspensions, bans and appeals work is written out in full. Read them at elefrac.com/legal.
Fixes
- If your game is out of date when it reconnects to our servers, it now shows the update message instead of “Your account was logged in elsewhere”. Restart the launcher to update.
- Fixed the store getting stuck loading, and bundles that couldn’t be bought.
- Spectating in a replay now follows where the player is actually looking, for every player, including ones who reconnected during the match.
- Fixed two crashes while rewinding or skipping through a replay.
Back-end fixes
- The October 20 outage. Our main server’s internet connection flickered on and off for about a quarter of an hour. Sign-ins failed for about 14 minutes, and Marla kept posting outage and all-clear messages with a ping each time. Since then:
- The status monitor first checks that it can reach the internet before calling anything down, so an offline monitor no longer declares an outage.
- Marla posts status changes at most once every ten minutes and three times an hour, then waits for half an hour of stability.
- The European backup now alerts the team when players can’t sign in even though the website works, and keeps checking instead of giving up after one look.
- Handing the main server back after a takeover no longer restores older data, and a broken heartbeat can’t be mistaken for a dead server.
- Lag spikes on NA (stalls of a few seconds in every match) are fixed: match recording was waiting on the disk in the middle of the game.
- Match recordings can now be kept by staff for up to 30 days after a report is decided, for appeals.
See you in the Hollow Lands.
