Shorter waits before a match

By popular request, we adjusted the Battle Royale lobby timers from 3.21.0, so you don’t wait as long.

• Quiet modes (fewer than 10 players in that mode’s lobbies and matches) now have a 4 minute pre-game timer. It’s shown on the MATCH STARTING countdown the whole time, and it never pauses.
• Busier modes have a 6 minute WAITING FOR PLAYERS phase, then the 2 minute MATCH STARTING countdown. While players in that mode are still finishing a match, the lobby can hold so they can make it in. The banner then reads WAITING FOR PLAYERS FINISHING A MATCH, in your language. A hold always ends within 10 minutes of the lobby opening.

Spectator mode

• You can opt out of being spectated. On elefrac.com, go to your account page and untick Let other players spectate me under Spectator mode. Players outside your own squad can no longer watch you. It takes effect from your next match.
• Spectate a friend from your friends list. A friend who is in a match now has SPECTATE in their menu, which takes you straight into their match. VIEW PROFILE opens their hi-scores page.
• Spectators only follow players, never bots.
• Joining as a spectator is faster. You go into the spectate view about a second after you arrive, not three. Your own player HUD stays hidden until you’re actually spectating.

Reporting players

• The REPORT button (and F7) now only shows up when another player has knocked you out, and while you’re spectating a player. The player’s name is filled in for you.
• On the screen after you’re knocked out, REPORT appears and fades out together with CONTINUE, so it no longer stays on screen once you move on.

Store

• Every day the store has 3 offers of each kind, and each kind works through all of its offers in turn.
• Featured now shows the cosmetics players wear the most. It’s picked once a day, and an item has to sit out 14 days before it can be featured again.
• Offers that every account already owns (like Warden and Recruit) no longer take up store slots.

Settings

• The Dodge keybinding is gone from Settings > Keyboard. Elemental Fracture has no dodge, so it didn’t do anything. Classic still has it.

Tutorial

• The dodge lesson is gone, because Elemental Fracture has no dodge. The tutorial now has you levitate across that gap instead, with the game’s own levitation video and the (Hold) Levitate prompt.

Fixes

• Fixed a crash that could hit in menus and in matches, which many have silently reported since Mod 3.19.6. It came from the chat buttons.
• Chat now always scrolls back to the newest line.
• Signing in while the servers are busy no longer shows 0 gold, Mage Rank 1 and no quests for the first half minute. You see your last known progress until the latest loads.
• Reports and friend requests now work with a name that has a tag in front of it, like “[EF] Name”.
